Fondata nel 1991, il TIPA (Technical Imaging Press Association) è un'associazione NO profit composta da 28 tra le più importanti testate giornalistiche, inerenti la fotografia, di tutto il mondo.
Dal 1991 i soci TIPA si riuniscono almeno una volta all'anno nell'assemblea generale per discutere progetti, condividere opinioni e commentare le innovazioni e le tendenze dell'industria fotografica.
Durante questi giorni d'incontri, i rappresentanti delle riviste TIPA votano anche i migliori prodotti fotografici e imaging dell'anno. Il 17 Marzo scorso, a Bangkok, il TIPA ha scelto la migliore attrezzatura fotografica del 2019 suddivisa in 40 prodotti differenti. Su alcuni di questi ho dei dubbi ma su molti altri concordo in pieno. Vediamone assieme alcuni con anche la motivazione in inglese) dei giudici:
